Re: At what point will we run out of "contributers"?

I think Paul Tagliabue, and maybe finally the referees (Jerry Markbreit, Jim Tunney et al) will have their day.

NFL logo at midfield in the Super Bowl

I know this was a topic we talked about at the old forum: since Super Bowl VI most Super Bowls have had the NFL logo at midfield. I remember well that Super Bowl XXXII at San Diego (Denver-Green Bay) broke the streak (the Super Bowl logo was at midfield instead). Anyone remember which other Super Bo...

Re: 2016: Favre a lock, Terrell Owens will be put in line

I have to agree on Warner being bumped to 2017; there's no way they'll induct two QBs in the same class, and Favre is a definite first-ballot guy. I predicted that Pace would go in in 2017, but now I think it's likely that he makes it next year, especially given that he made the cut to 10 this time...

Re: In 1992, it was the Pats and Seahawks in the "Stupor Bow

Mirer was named AFC Rookie of the Year by UPI. Ralph, it's funny to always bring that up to fellow Seahawks fans who have no idea. Get a lot of 'shocked' reactions. Unrelated, I not only had one Mirer Seahawks jersey that I wore to grade school, I had TWO! Of all of Chris Berman's football nickname...

Re: Whci of the three coaches, Coryell, Johnson or Dungy?

The goal is to win. The coach is hired to win, not to innovate. If innovation occurred, it occurred as a result of the coach trying to win. Exactly. I also agree, but I would like to point out the election of Dick LeBeau (yes, I know he entered "officialy" as a Senior player, but back in ...

Re: Whci of the three coaches, Coryell, Johnson or Dungy?

One coach I think it belongs in this category is Darrel "Mouse" Davis, who developed the run and shoot offense. No one would pick him for the HOF, even if he had lasted many years in the NFL.

Re: Pontiac Silverdome today

Something I remember that it was said that the Silverdome was very far (checking, it's 28 miles from Ford Field) and had poor public transportation to it. It's sad to see it in decay, however, and I remember very well Super Bowl XVI, their NFL Films highlights are one of my favorites, the Silverdome...

Re: Greene versus Haley for HOF

I think they would pick Haley first based in his Super Bowl rings, but I believe Greene was the better player. I would not be bothered if any one of them makes it, however, both deserve it.

Re: Davis versus Bettis for HOF

I would vote for Davis, but I think that Bettis would enter the Hall first based in "fame" and longer career.

Re: Pace versus Shields for HOF

Both are deserving, but I believe that Shields is very underrated, is like the Tom Mack of recent years (many Pro Bowls, few All-Pros), but hopefully he can enter soon, he deserves it (I was surprised that he was only a 3rd round draft choice given the fact that he won the Outland Trophy as a senior...
