Re: Sacks on Pro Football Reference

Interesting. I noticed awhile ago they've had individual sack totals in box scores for playoff games dating back to the 1940s. I wonder who they would cite as sources if anyone asked. You can thank John Turney and Nick Webster for that information. From Yahoo Sports today: "Updated research cr...

Re: 2021 Hall of Very Good Finalists

Every year someone has a complaint about the process, or someone's favorite hasnt been nominated. Geezer Louise ... The process isn't exactly transparent: You submit five names, and maybe you include some justifications for your selection, or maybe you don't, but you don't know whether those justif...

Re: Game books update

I believe Ken was referring to the gamebook for the game Cliff mentioned in his column, the 1965 NFL Championship game in which he noted the work of the PRFA in archiving gamebooks - it is the last question-and-answer of the column (if I am speaking out of turn, Ken, please correct me). I see :-) Y...

Re: Game books update

I do not have that gamebook in Rupert's stuff, but I know that Craig is working directly with teams to get more gamebooks. Maybe he can chime in here. Hi Ken, not to sure which game book you are referring to. Although my attempts to get more gamebooks has not been too successful, especially with th...

Re: Game books update

In today's column on Packers.com, Cliff Christl mentions the gamebooks project in the Members Section of the PRFA site (last question of the column):

Re: Latest Coffin Corner

Eddie Kotal needs to be the next contributor in the HOF but like Jack Vainisi, many people dont know enough about him. Kotal, Vainisi and Kilroy should get in before any more owners but I believe Kraft will be the next one voted in. *If* you can find it - and I cannot** - read Cliff Christl and Don...

I submitted his name to Andy earlier this morning for the 2021 HoVG, along with three others (two of which he wrote were already there).

Re: Best all-time roster: WRs

Packers had Dilweg, Hutson, Howton, Dowler, McGee, Dale, Lofton, Sharpe, Freeman, Driver, Jennings, Jones, Cobb, Nelson, Adams ... I loved Brooks but injury prone. Jefferson was just briefly ... Of the group (plus Ralph's inclusion of McNally), the end with the highest YPR among the Packers? Dale, ...

All time Green Bay Herber/Isbell/Starr/Favre/Rodgers
I would add Red Dunn to the Packer list, who called signals and was the primary passer in Lambeau's Notre Dame box offense (and has four NFL championships) ... Dunn/Herber/Isbell/Starr/Favre/Rodgers.

Re: Best all-time roster: Centers

Packers had a nice 30ish year run from '53-'84 that was basically Ringo > Bowman > McCarren. Add Charley Brock in the '40s and George Svendsen in the '30s (albeit briefly).
