Bryan wrote: Wed Apr 10, 2024 2:14 pm Heard this one on the radio....only one franchise in the Super Bowl era has drafted 3 QBs that have gone on to win the Super Bowl. Name the franchise.
Super Bowl Era means '66 and on?
So Unitas, Dawson, Bradshaw, and Big Ben doesn't count?

Re: Ranking all NFLCG winners, '33 thru '65

Neft-Cohen's Pro Football: The Early Years lists all NFL players and their years of military service (pp. 160-161). Here are the totals by year: 1941--44 (we tend to forget that the draft started in late 1940) 1942--202 1943--376 1944--418 1945--358 How many of those were stateside and still played?

Re: Obscure trivia

Name the two players. My last year was his first year and we played on the same team. That team is not the team we are known to play for. The team we are known to play for, is the same team. We each played over 15 seasons. We are not skill position players. added - Although tall for our position, w...

Re: Ranking all NFLCG winners, '33 thru '65

I think the '65 Packers are rated too high. the good The pass defense is what makes their team successful imo. 27 ints with 4 pick sixes. +24 in turnovers. 19 less penalties than their opponents and 148 less penalty yards the bad Out gained by 368 yards. Returned 22 punts of 60 punts for a 3.0 avg w...

Re: Goal Posts

Stadiums used them later ... the offset legs. The rule you are talking about is the invention of the Y-shape (one leg) rather than the H-shape. There were offset H-shapes in the NFL way before 1966. The rule you are talking about also made them yellow --- they were white before. Others can fill in ...

Goal Posts

"Not much changed for the next 33 years until 1966 when a resolution was adopted by the NFL owners that required the goal posts to be offset from the goal line and should extend 20 feet in the air." 1939 Championship game. The goal posts are offset. I wonder why it didn't kick in to keep ...
